And now…. THE MAIN EVENT    OH YES THE MAIN EVEN.  No one messes with Texas!

This lame… I warn you. The match doesn’t even take place in the Cell.

Oh man… The Undertake popped out of the ring! NO WONDER HE DIDN’T COME DOWN THE RAMP. This isn’t even a match.

Now, nothing has been confirmed yet. Jim Ross mentioned Cage in his blog stating that:

“Christian is a talent guy who I am happy I signed to the WWE and I’m sure he will make the best decision for him. The WWE would be stupid not to recognize his talent and they’re not stupid.”

TNA might fall into the same issue WCW did with old wrestler’s calling the shots and not letting young guys really grow. But, with this whole Main Event Mafia storyline it could go either way really.

Cage would probably get a much bigger pay check at WWE, but I do not know if he’ll be A-List. It would be cool to see him and Edge reunite, just for one night. They always cut the funniest promo’s and a match against the Hardy Boy sure would bring back memories, plus it might be cool.   5 Second Pose anyone?

Anyway, here is a classic Edge & Christian Promo. Not to take away from Christian’s solo career, he is accomplished and can definitely carry a storyline and is great in the ring.

You can expect this from Tommy Dreamer, but Jack Swagger proved himself very versatile. Swagger will now, hopefully, get a push to the A-List. I think he is a young talent, who is cocky and can wrestle.

This match was a great modern hardcore match. It had the violence mixed with legit wrestling and a thought out pace. The ring psychology was great too. There were some really innovative uses of weapons in this match too and uses that you couldn’t see coming. I know some guys what blood and guts, but that has been done.

This match showed how to incoproate weapons into a match and still have it be fluid, not just beating guys down with a chair and then 5 minutes of rest. The match was a good length and very entertaining.

I was honestly excited for once and by the looks of it so was Morrison. He broke “the 4th wall” and you could see clear excitment on his face when the match was over.

This could be the start of something wonderful. I can see it now, classic battles on the mic. HBK having one last classic feud to end his career, passing the torch to Morrison. Helping Morrison clean up and focus his talent.

Now its just like a classic rock band playing the hits. I admit that HBK and HHH have a great chemistry and are funny. By insulting themselves first they kind of took away the ammo for Miz and Morrison to insult them.

I am hoping his leads to a permanent feud between and HBK and Morrison.

Overall I was impressed with the match. I feel like Morrison got a slight push over Miz.

Morrison giving the sweet chin music was a nice touch. Like I’ve said before, I would love to see Morrison vs HBK. Old school HBK at that.

This match definetly was a good match though, not great but enjoyable. It was a little sample of what could be.

My first complaint about TNA, and this is one I’ve heard and read from others, is their announcers. Could they be any more obnoxious? No, obnoxious is not the right word. Irratating works better. Their voices grate my ears, I have honestly muted my TV in order to enjoy the matches more. They will literally beat a dead horse with their commentary.

TNA needs to stop ripping off WWE and attempting to be the same company. Remember WCW? How did that end. ECW at least used to offer an alternative. That’s what TNA should angle for (no pun intended Kurt). WWE has their Divas, TNA has Knockouts. But TNA’s women wrestlers can actually put on some good matches. Not to say WWE’s Divas can’t, but most Divas (excluding Mickie James and Beth Phoenix) are just eye candy.

TNA also has the X Division which is amazing. It is actually exciting to watch. TNA also has a new interesting story line with the MME (main event mafia) vs young talent. This could play out very well. Last week it was basically a squash match with Big Poppa Dump using his steroid arms to weild a lead pipe.

This brings me to another issue with TNA. Their “main even mafia” has some legit stars. Kurt Angle, Sting, and Kevin Nash. These guys were main eventers. Well, Nash was to an extent. But Booker T (what’s up with that faux Jamaican accent by the way?)? Booker T was mid card his whole dull career, why the push now? Was Doink The Clown busy? How about Shelton Benjamin? You get my point. Booker T, for me as a main event is a big NO NO.

Scott Steiner? That roided out freak was never any good. He is just a big hoss, like Hogan except more hair and a slightly more limited move set. Which is truly an insult because Hogan had the boot and a leg drop and 3 holds.

Instead of pushing these C carders. Invest some more time and effort into Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, etc…  All those guys are young and extremly talented and I am sure have been tempted by the WWE. If TNA wants to keep them, push them more. When this whole storyline ends I hope to see the young wrestlers on top. Because unless anyone but Angle is wrestling they will be carrying the whole match. Let’s face it Big Sexy is great on the mic, but lazy in the ring.

They have brought back the classic heel/face story lines. Gone are the days of grey area. What about TNA you ask? Well, Mick Foley seems to think its worth a shot. And if it’s good enough for Mick, it’s good enough for me.

The WWE has become too bloated. It is the only show in town. Even in professional sports, they fight for attention. MLB, NBA, NFL,NASCAR and even NHL or MLS all duke it out in ratings. They may be different sports but they are going after the same demographic. WWE is the only pro wrestling show in TV and it’s not really a sport, it’s sports entertainment.

But, it’s on Cable. So, really RAWs only competition is Monday Night Football. Personally, I switch back and forth depending on who’s playing.

The attitude era and Monday Night Wars are dead and gone, they will never be back. Which, is sad, but honestly it came to its logical end.

Now, will TNA ever be an honest and critical threat to WWE? I can neither say yes or no. TNA has taken a slow growth business model. Wrestlers seem to enjoy working there. Seems to foster a good attitude among its employees, especially since the wrestlers aren’t traveling 26 days of the month. They show up for a weekly filming to a small but enthusiastic studio audience; and at most travel once or twice a month for a live show. They are healthy, happy, and rested and it shows. Sometimes you can see the gring on the WWE wrestlers.

It should be evident TNA is treating its guys right as, none that I can think of, have jumped ship to the WWE and there have been offers. Samoa Joe or AJ Style, both amazing talents, would never have had a shot in WWE. TNA’s storylines and announcers leave much to be desired. But the quality of the matches themselves are always entertaining.

They know they are small and corny (say hell to the Black Macho Man, Jay Lethal) but you can see on the wrestlers faces they love to be out there and entertain the crowd.

So, you have WWE which seems to treat its wrestlers with less than stellar business or TNA which has poor story lines, but guys who clearly are still hungry and love to put on a good, fun, and entertaining show every time. Also, TNA seems to give every guy an honest shot.

Hey Yo! From his faux greasy mullet, abnormally hairy chest, and tooth pick. Razor Ramon was a good character (mainly because Scarface is a good character). His music is simple but catchy.

Before Shane O’Mac there was Ted DiBiase. He basically says his catchphrase while a chorus sings “money, money, moneeey”. But, I will be damned, everyone loves Ted and this song is great.

This was bad ass. Coming up through the fire the way he bobed his head then spit “blood” from his goblet. Perfection. If he would only lose 10 lbs he could be on WWE again.

The glass shattering ushered in the attitude era. Along with The Rock, Stone Cold gave new life to the WWE and helped them win the Monday Night Wars. Stone Cold was the every man, pissed off, beer drinking wreslter. He stood up to the ‘man’.

Dead Man Walking… Very, Very Slowly

The Undertaker’s entrance is his persona. He is a “dead man” and when the lights dim and the funeral dirge kicks in, it is a complete expierence. He is one of the best character wrestler’s of all time with one of the best characters.
